We received funding for the implementation of the task "Former camp for Polish children in Łódź. The processing of archaeological sources”. Thanks to the specific-purpose grant of PLN 61,100, our Museum will carry out key work aimed at protecting and popularizing the archaeological heritage of the region.

The project is implemented under the government programme "Protection of Archaeological Monuments", with funding from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from the Cultural Promotion Fund.

The "Protection of Archaeological Monuments" 2026 Programme allows us to use state-of-the-art research methods that are essential to properly safeguard the treasures of the past.

The project includes the processing and analysis of archaeological materials from investigations carried out at the location of a former camp for Polish children on Przemysłowa Street in Łódź (1942-1945), taking into account the identification and description of the use of the investigated area, digital documentation and analysis of the discovered artifacts from the recent past, as well as further reconstruction of the history of the place, which is permanently inscribed in the memory of Łódź residents and in the history of the Second World War and the post-war era.
