The Museum of Polish Children – Victims of Totalitarianism invites you to take part in the commemoration of the 81st anniversary of the end of the German camp for Polish children on Przemysłowa Street in Łódź.
The main event will take place on January 16, 2026, at 12:00 PM in the Szare Szeregi Park in Łódź, by the Children’s Martyrdom Monument. These ceremony commemorates the youngest victims of Nazi terror – children who were deprived of their childhood and often their lives.
An integral part of the celebration will be the opening of a temporary exhibition entitled
"Camp girls. Minor female prisoners of a camp for Polish children", prepared by the curatorial team of the Museum of Polish Children – Victims of Totalitarianism.
The exhibition is dedicated to the fate of teenage girls imprisoned in the camp on Przemysłowa Street. Their experiences are presented based on personal accounts recorded after the end of the war, which remain a moving testimony to camp life: forced labour, hunger, violence, and constant psychological pressure. The exhibition juxtaposes the memoirs of former female prisoners with photographs taken by German perpetrators, revealing both the actual realities of camp life and their propagandistic image.
Programme of the ceremony
- 12:00 – ceremony at the Children’s Martyrdom Monument (laying of wreaths)
- 12:30 – official opening of the exhibition
Participation in the event is open. We would like to invite the citizens of Łódź and all those interested in the history of the camp on Przemysłowa Street and the fate of its youngest prisoners.
