wróć...An account of the 83rd anniversary of the establishment of the branch in Dzierżązna.

Dyrektor Muzeum stoi na baczność przed pomnikiem udekorowanym wieńcami.

At the Municipal Centre for Culture, Sport, Tourism and Recreation in Dzierżązna, a ceremonial commemoration was held to mark the 83rd anniversary of the establishment of a branch of the German camp for Polish children. At this site, marked by the suffering of young female prisoners, representatives of the Museum, local authorities, and residents paid tribute to the victims of German crimes.

In March 1943, on the grounds of a confiscated estate in Dzierżązna, the Germans established a subcamp for Polish girls, subordinate to the camp on Przemysłowa Street in Łódź. It was there, in inhumane conditions, that the youngest victims of the war were forced into exhausting and deadly labour.

The commemoration was open to the public and brought together people wishing to jointly preserve historical memory.

The memory of the tragic fate of the young female prisoners from Dzierżązna remains alive, forming the foundation of our Museum’s mission.

We thank everyone for paying tribute to the victims together with us.
