wróć...83rd anniversary of the opening of the branch in Dzierżązna – invitation to the celebrations

We warmly invite you to the celebrations of the 83rd anniversary of the establishment of a branch of the German camp for Polish children in Dzierżązna. The celebrations will take place on 16 March 2026 at 12.00 p.m. at the Community Centre for Culture, Sports, Tourism and Recreation in Dzierżązna.
In March 1943, on the confiscated grounds of the estate in Dzierżązna, the Germans established a subcamp for Polish girls. It was a unit subordinate to the camp in Przemysłowa Street in Łódź.
The memory of the youngest victims of German crimes is the foundation of our Museum's mission, which is why the ceremonies in Dzierżązna are intended to commemorate the fate of girls who were forced to perform slave labour for the Third Reich in inhumane conditions.
– The childhood of the girls imprisoned in Dzierżązna was filled with forced agricultural and gardening work, which they were forced to do by the German occupation system. The subcamp, supervised by Heinrich Fuge, operated almost until the end of the war, until January 1945,recalls Sylwia Wielichowska, director of the Museum of Polish Children – victims of totalitarianism.
